Sunday Preview
Most of us try to fix what’s visible first — our schedule, our habits, our performance. But Jesus teaches that what truly shapes a life happens quietly, beneath the surface.
In Matthew 6, Jesus talks about prayer, generosity, and fasting — not as religious performance, but as hidden practices that form the heart. What we repeat in secret becomes who we are in public. The things no one sees are shaping everything everyone does.
This message invites us to see Lent differently. Not as spiritual self-improvement. Not as impressing God. But as honest formation — allowing God to reshape our loves, our attention, and our priorities through simple, quiet faithfulness.
If you’ve ever felt like your faith was real but not particularly useful, this conversation is for you.
Following Jesus gives us a way to live that actually works in real life.
Sunday Rewind
We live in a world full of noise—urgent voices, constant opinions, and relentless pressure to act, react, and stay in control. Most of us don’t struggle to believe in Jesus. We struggle to slow down long enough to actually listen to him.
In this message, Pastor Mike will look at the story of the Transfiguration and discover that it’s not primarily about seeing glory—it’s about hearing the right voice. When Peter rushes to act, God interrupts him with a simple command: “Listen to him.”
This teaching invites us to reconsider where we’re taking our cues from and what it means to truly listen to Jesus in the middle of everyday life—not with fear or shame, but with trust. Not to escape real life, but to be shaped for it.
Together, we’ll explore how listening to Jesus brings clarity, healing, and wholeness—and how learning to pause and listen may be the most practical act of faith we can practice.

Resisting the Reflex to Feel "Less Than"
Many of us live with a quiet, persistent sense that we don’t quite measure up—not because anyone says it out loud, but because we’ve learned it over time.
In this new Groundwork episode, Pastor Mike explores why feelings of inferiority can seem so reasonable, where they come from, and why even knowing the truth about our identity in Christ doesn’t automatically silence them. Scripture doesn’t tell us to fight our feelings—it gives us a different authority to trust.
This conversation is for anyone who stays quiet instead of stepping forward, assumes others matter more, or has learned to keep themselves small to stay safe.

Remembering Jesus' Sacrifice
This Wednesday, we’re opening the church office from 11a–2p for a quiet, meaningful pause in the middle of your week. Stop by for prayer and to receive the imposition of ashes—the simple mark of the cross placed on your forehead as a sign of humility, reflection, and hope.
The practice of receiving ashes dates back to the early centuries of the Christian church. Christians across many traditions observe Ash Wednesday as a way of beginning Lent with honesty about our need for grace.
Lent is a 40-day season leading up to Easter—a time to slow down, clear some space, and re-center our lives on Jesus. The ashes are a reminder that life is fragile, mercy is real, and renewal is possible.
Come as you are. Stay as long—or as briefly—as you need. We’ll make room for prayer.
